Anytime Fitness

This was my home gym for a year, and when I moved back in the area I was so excited to get back to Lombard north. The community was crucial for loving this location but also it WAS the cleanest. It was very clean up until about a month ago. I don’t know what happened but the bathrooms are disgusting and the floor is always dirty now, it’s always disorganized. I have to organize to start my workout. The staff used to be on top of getting people to clean equipment, but half the people working out just walk away from equipment without cleaning or re-racking. The old manager Evelyn and even some do the personal trainers used to call that out. This place really went down hill. Sorry guys but this is surprising for your location. The community is gone and it feels trashy like many other anytime fitness.

MAJOR SCAM AND DISHONEST STAFF. Save yourself the time and money. I have been a member of quite a few gyms and this was honestly the worst experience I've ever had. This is my secondary gym membership in addition to my primary at LifeTime. The manager here (David Mendez) informed me on signing up that there is a contract I would need to sign and when I informed him that I'd be leaving the state and there won't be one near me, he said at that point, submitting proof of relocation is sufficient for cancellation. Well, fast forward and they refused to cancel my membership. I called, emailed, and submitted proof, and when I finally got a hold of David directly, he said he'll go ahead an finally cancel my membership (left on a recorded VM). I also received email confirmation with a cancellation receipt attached. Fast forward again, my "balance" is in collections, the owner here is evading me, and David "no longer works here". I filed a report with the BBB and contacted the collections company and had to report this as a violation of the FDCPA articles. I spoke to another member who said David told him that come time to cancel that member's membership, he'll enter a giftcard number in the system as a payment method. That sounds illegal to me! Honestly, this has been a NIGHTMARE to resolve. No gym membership is worth this much time and effort. Go to LA Fitness. Same price, and they actually clean the gym

Great equipment selection and I noticed a feel of community here. Lots of different groups chatting between or during workouts, people working out together, etc. They have good free weights, a good kettle bell selection, good private/group space etc. One of the better Anytimes I’ve seen while traveling for work

This Anytime Fitness has a great array of machines, is clean, and spacious. There is also a nice amount of supplements available for purchase as well as a free massage machine. This location also has a studio and plenty of cardio machines. Parking and wifi are also available.

What a dump! Such an absolute shame. I travel a lot for work and one of my favorite things about Anytime is that I have access to all locations. While my schedule might be all over the place, this allows my exercise to stay somewhat routine. The location on North Ave is the closest to my home and when I moved here I felt so lucky to have such a nice gym so close. Every time I came in I was greeted by people who knew my name and a facility that was clean and orderly. As soon as ownership changed and the woman who was running things was shouldered out things immediately went downhill. I cannot remember the last time I saw anyone actually working at this location. Half of the equipment is broken, the bathrooms are disgusting, and there's no one to contact if you have issues. Today I came in and miraculously saw someone working. Only to be told that the bathrooms were all clogged and over flowing and he was trying to get ahold of management to see what to do. I will sadly be finding a new gym after this. While I know all gyms are out for money, maybe find one that's not so obvious about it.
